I had some problems with Spy Falcon yesterday, which I thought I had resolved.
I was able to remove SpyFalcon by following your updated instructions and the computer appreared to be clean. I also switched from Internet Explorer to Opera as my web browser. However, this morning, I got another virus alert/pop-up in my task bar, and some of my anti-spyware software told me that a temp file was attempting to be installed. Immediately after that alert, a message comes up saying that internet explorer is trying to change my home page to about:blank. I kept rejecting the change, knowing that about:blank is not a good thing, but it kept popping back up. Sorry for the long explanation, but basiclly, I would like to know how to disable/remove internet explorer. Is there a way to do that? Do I disable Active Script Support, and if so, how do I do that? Thank you!! |

Hi, shanny70. Sorry for the delay.
Run a HijackThis scan and post your log here.
As for Internet Explorer, there is no reliable way to remove Internet Explorer without corrupting the entire system. Internet Explorer is not only a web browser, but a very important component of the Microsoft Windows OS. You cannot uninstall it.
There is no need disabling Internet Explorer since you do not browse the web using it. Most spyware parasites target this web browser, so it can get infected even if you do not use it at all.
Please read this article. It explains how to disable Active Scripting support. |
