keystroke loggers found, freaked me out

I found and removed Winvestigator 2.5 and Typerecorder 2.0 from my system. Some say these programs must be "manually" installed. So I want to know what that means, ie, did someone break into my house or does it just mean that it wasn't done via something robotic or virus-like?

maybe you downloaded a file of the internet and didnt bother scanning it and it included theese keyloggers.in the future scan a file before downloading it.

It means that someone has installed this software to your system without your knowledge. It could be one of your friends, relatives, etc., i.e. anyone who has access to your computer and your account. However, the software could also been installed by certain malicious parasites (backdoors or trojans). In such case no user interaction is required.
