Post Post subject: Spyfalcon? Reproductive Temporary files? Reply with quote

I'm having a lot of drama with temporary files that reproduce themselves.
The trojans disguised as temporary files (win3da.tmp.exe, Win4d7.tmp.exe, Win5ed.tmp.exe etc) keep reproducing themselves in my C:\WINDOWS\Temp folder. I delete them, and they reproduce themselves within a matter of minutes. I've tried using files shredders, but they still come back. They never appear in my hijackthis log because I use Zonealarm and it asks me wether or not they can access the internet or not. Occasionally two blank IE explorer windows open titled WindowsUrl or something sililar, but the data is never allowed in. I recenlty removed spyfalcon, and I think this is the only trace left, although I can't seem to rid myself of this problem, anyone got any solutions.

Hi, Roo-kie.

Please follow these steps:

1. Download the smitRem tool and unpack its files to a chosen folder.

2. Use HijackThis to fix the following entries:
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present
O18 - Protocol: msnim - {828030A1-22C1-4009-854F-8E305202313F} - "C:\PROGRA~1\MSNMES~1\msgrapp.dll" (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: winzwr32 - winzwr32.dll (file missing)

3. Now restart your system in Safe Mode.

4. Once in Safe Mode, run the smitRem tool by executing the RunThis.bat file.

Please let me know if this helps.

P.S. Your system is not up-to-date! You have to install Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Internet Explorer. Also apply all latest updates and security fixes.
