Post subject: another spysheriff problem |
|
|
hi,
i have a PC that is heavily infected by viruses caused by SpySheriff. the machine can boot up but all it does is run Spysheriff and everything else freezes except the mouse ( i wanted to delete SpySheriff from the registry). i tried changing the PC boot sequence so that i can use my system-restore CD but the advanced options for Windows XP doesn't show up.
i'm wondering if there's anybody who can help me out with this dilemna.
thanks in advance.
regards,
alex |

Hi, alexanderquijano1975. Welcome to the 2-Spyware.com forums!
Try this:
1. Use another computer to download the HijackThis program. Save the downloaded file to a floppy.
2. Turn on your computer and enter the Safe Mode. This step is very important!
3. Insert the floppy containing HijackThis, and copy the file on it to your computer's disk. Then run a HijackThis scan. Copy the log and post it to this topic.
P.S. Your topic will be moved to more appropriate forum section. |

hi GTO,
i tried going to safemode but all the machine does is check the disk and then resume windows. i don't get the boot menu. any ideas to workaround this.
also i was thinking of removing the HD and connect it to another PC as a secondary. then, run anti-virus from there. what do you think?

Hi, alexanderquijano1975.
I suggest running a scan on another PC. However, you need to know how to remove the hard drive and connect it to another PC properly. |
