Hi
I my computer tells me that i have a virus Trojan SPM/LX

How do i save the Hijake report so that i can post it and can get some help.
I press SAVE LOG. and it just closers or the SAVE LOG turns to Scan.
I'm also scaning the my computer with ewido when this is done will the removal of the Infected files be enough or do i still have to do the Hijake scan to be on the save side?

Please help

Hi, needhelp. Welcome to the 2-Spyware.com forums!

You can find all the answers in this HijackThis tutorial.

I suggest posting your log here. ewido anti-spyware might miss some threats.

Hi, needhelp.

Please follow these steps:

1. Download the smitRem tool and unpack its files to a chosen folder.

2. Download Pocket KillBox or KillBox utility.

3. Open the Control Panel and launch the Add or Remove Programs tool. In the list of installed software find the SpywareBot entry. Uninstall this program. It is a corrupt anti-spyware.

4. Use HijackThis to fix the following entries:

5. Now restart your system in Safe Mode. This step is very important!

6. Once in Safe Mode, run the smitRem tool by executing the RunThis.bat file. The smitRem tutorial can be found here.

7. Then use either Pocket KillBox or KillBox to delete the following files:

Hi, needhelp.

Please do this:

1. Download the VundoFix.exe tool.

2. Use VundoFix.exe to remove the infection. VundoFix.exe official usage instructions:
* Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
* Put a check next to Run VundoFix as a task.
* You will receive a message saying vundofix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK
* When VundoFix re-opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.
* Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
* You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
* Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
* When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
* Turn your computer back on.

3. Use HijackThis to fix the following entries:

4. Now restart your system in Safe Mode. This step is very important!

5. Once in Safe Mode, use either Pocket KillBox or KillBox to delete the following files (if present):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ssttu.dll
C:\PROGRAM FILES\NEWDOTNET\NEWDOT~2.DLL

Also, delete the following directory:

6. Reboot your computer. Download the trial version of ewido anti-spyware. Install the program, update its definitions and run a complete system scan. Remove all the threats the application will find.

7. After you get done, run new HijackThis scan and post a fresh log here.

When i get on the net i get a message telling me.

Hi, needhelp.

It looks like a fake warning message displayed by malicious software running in your system. Do not click on it!

Your system is still infected. Please try this:

1. Download another variant of the VundoFix tool. Then double-click on the downloaded file. This will unpack VundoFix files.

2. Now restart your system in Safe Mode. This step is very important!

3. Once in Safe Mode, open the VundoFix folder and execute the KillVundo.bat file.
* You will be presented with a warning. At this point press enter.
* Then you will be asked to type in the filepath as instructed by the forum staff.
At this point type in this: C:\WINDOWS\system32\ssttu.dll. Press enter, then the F6 key.
* Now you should be asked to type in the second path as instructed by the forum staff.
At this point type in this: C:\WINDOWS\system32\uttss*.*. Press enter, then the F6 key. Press enter one more time. Now the fix should run.

4. Use HijackThis to fix the following entries:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {9C569031-0B42-4A76-9EB8-2D381F65529F} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ssttu.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {A4F94C0C-54A7-4DB1-9AF3-B22E63D00309} - c:\windows\g398312.dll (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: ssttu - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ssttu.dll
O20 - Winlogon Notify: winemx32 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winemx32.dll

5. Then use either Pocket KillBox or KillBox to delete the following file:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winemx32.dll

6. After you get done, restart your computer, run new HijackThis scan and post a fresh log here.

Hi, needhelp.

Sorry for the delay, and thank you for your patience.

Please try this:

1. Download the SmitFraudFix tool. Extract all the downloaded archive content.

2. Now restart your system in Safe Mode. This step is very important!

3. Once in Safe Mode, open the VundoFix folder and execute the KillVundo.bat file.
* You will be presented with a warning. At this point press enter.
* Then you will be asked to type in the filepath as instructed by the forum staff.
At this point type in this: C:\WINDOWS\system32\gebyyyy.dll. Press enter, then the F6 key.
* Now you should be asked to type in the second path as instructed by the forum staff.
At this point type in this: C:\WINDOWS\system32\yyyybeg*.*. Press enter, then the F6 key. Press enter one more time. Now the fix should run.

4. Run the SmitFraudFix scan. The SmitFraudFix guide can be found on the official web site.

5. Then use HijackThis to fix the following entries (if present):
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {6D794CB4-C7CD-4c6f-BFDC-9B77AFBDC02C} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\gebyyyy.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {873eb32d-ae1a-4183-89bd-45a77f761be4} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ixt0.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {A4F94C0C-54A7-4DB1-9AF3-B22E63D00309} - C:\WINDOWS\g35594156.dll
O20 - Winlogon Notify: gebyyyy - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\gebyyyy.dll

6. Use either Pocket KillBox or KillBox to delete the following files:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winemx32.dll
C:\WINDOWS\g35594156.dll

7. After you get done, restart your computer, run new HijackThis scan and post a fresh log here.
