If I do not use windows messager, should I DELETE THIS?

Even if you do not use Windows Messenger, you should leave the msmsgs.exe file in the system. You may need it later. To disable it and prevent from running on every Windows startup please do the following: go to Start > Programs > Windows Messenger > Tools > Options > Preferences and uncheck the [b]"Run this program when Windows starts" option.

If you really do not need Windows Messenger you can completely uninstall it. Navigate to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components. In the appeared list find Windows Messenger (it should be the last entry) , uncheck it and press Next. Confirm your actions. That's all.

In some cases msmsgs.exe might be installed and used by certain parasites. To make it clear please check your computer using a reliable anti-spyware program or download HijackThis, perform a scan and post your log into the appropriate forum section.
