Israeli Security Company Warns of Attack Against eBay

Aladin (a security company based in Israel) reported large scale attacks against several popular websites. The attacks were launched through botnet – a network of infected computers. These zombie computers were used to spread a trojan to random computers. When someone had tried to access eBay or several other websites, a trojan started to run some additional scripts to recognize the website, to find its vulnerabilities and copy login details. Aladin representative said that the scary part is not the botnets that are used for these attacks, but the complexity of these attempts and the combination of different effective methods.

We hadn’t forgotten the Monster.com hack yet. These examples disclose that even well known companies don’t take serious measures on their security. The sad thing is that the customers are the ones that suffer from this kind of attacks the most.
