A few days ago, on January 5, 2006, Microsoft has finally released critical update for the WMF exploit, which already became one of the most dangerous Windows threats ever. Microsoft’s patch works in a pretty similar way to Ilfak Guilfanov’s unofficial Windows WMF Metafile Vulnerability HotFix. All the users are encouraged to immediately apply new official update. Users, who have installed Ilfak Guilfanov’s hotfix, should uninstall it first before installing the update.
