Adobe Flash employed by scammers

Although there are plenty of ways and tools to block pop-ups, there always seems to be more ways to deliver unwanted advertisements no matter what blocker or filter technologies are used on a computer.

Scammers recently found a new way to pass pop-ups blockers and other security tools and bring annoying advertisements to the potential customers. The new scheme employs Adobe Flash. Scammers started making ordinary looking flash files that contain script which redirects web browser to various websites (corrupt security tools, drugs, etc). The flash-based files are hosted on ImageShack and other websites that provides free image hosting, so it’s difficult to track the criminals. But the issue is deeper: security tools block suspicious URL, but the malicious images are hosted on legitimate websites, therefore security filters don’t detect the problem at all.
