Beware!!! Ransomware threats have just started their second round! You may have heard about a seriously dangerous ransomware, which is called FBI virus. This threat has been spreading around as an official notification from various governmental authorities, such as FBI, Police Central e-crime Unit, etc. After blocking the entire PC system this fake warning starts claiming that victim has to pay a fine for the use of copyrighted content, distribution of malware and similar illegal activities. Fortunately, computer experts took only several weeks to discover a method how people could unblock their computers from FBI virus and avoid paying a fine. Nevertheless, this has clearly encouraged hackers to start thinking about new viruses.. That’s how Cryptowall, Cryptolocker, CTB Locker and Critroni showed up.

Cryptowall, Cryptolocker and other ransomwares do NOT block the entire PC system. Once these viruses infiltrate the system, they encrypt specific victim’s files and then ask to pay the ransom for their decryption. In most of the cases, people need to pay 1 or 2 bitcoin (or $250 – $500) for recovering the connection to their important files. The most important thing is that you can never know whether your files will be recovered after sending your money to scammers or not. That’s why you should rather think about the prevention of Cryptowall than their removal.

How can you avoid Cryptolocker? The most important thing is to avoid suspicious mails. It has already been reported that these attachments could be used for spreading this ransomware: malformed.zip; plenitude.zip; inquires.zip; simoniac.zip; faltboat.zip; incurably.zip; payloads.zip; dessiatine.zip. Also, you should stay away from pop-up ads offering you to update such programs as Java or Flash Player. In most of the cases, they are used for spreading suspicious programs, including this threat. If you really feel that these programs are out of date, you should visit their official websites and download what is recommended by them.

If you have just discovered that Crytowall, Cryptolocker, Critroni or CTB Locker has already hijacked your computer, these guide should help you:
