Don’t fall into two blonde women screensaver scam on Facebook!

Scammers keep using Facebook for distributing their malware. The latest threat users should be aware about is the worm which has started actively infecting computers worldwide through misleading link promising a screensaver of two blondes. The first ones who noticed this malware on this social network are Danish security researchers from CSIS. They report that this worm could have attacked many Facebook users who clicked on malicious links found on the letters they received from their friends.

According to their research, these malicious links promise for the user to redirect him to an image of two blonde women. However, after user clicks the icon, he unnoticeably launches malicious code which downloads malware infection without any permission asked. At the point of detection, this malicious code was hosted on a compromised Israeli, now it seems to be using additional websites.

You can get infected by this scamware through your friends who may have lost their accounts because of the weak password and gave their access to a rogue application.  According to Sophos, this worm is detected as Troj/Dloadr-DKK Trojan horse. It can be used for stealing victim’s banking information, passwords or simply downloading more dangerous malware inside. To make sure you are clear of viruses, it is recommended running a full system scan with updated anti-spyware.
