Toshiba laptop w/Windows XP and Norton 360 is infected with FBI virus/green dot. It will not reboot in Safe Mode w/without networking. I’ve tried System Restore with no luck. Downloaded Spyware and Norton Power Eraser on a clean machine & tried to run/install on laptop. Neither program will work unless there is internet access. If I turn on the internet, the computer goes directly to FBI. Totally frustrated…any suggestions? I would really appreciate any help anyone can give. Thanks!

As we all know, recovering Internet connection is the main issue in this virus removal. Try one of these options:
1. You should be allowed to login as a different user. If one of your accounts has administrator rights, you should be capable to launch anti-malware program.
2. Try to deny the Flash to make your ransomware stop function as intended. In order to disable the Flash, go to Macromedia support and select 'Deny': http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help09.html. After doing that, run a full system scan with anti-malware program.
Besides, you should definitely try using alternative anti-malware programs in this Flash drive method because all anti-malware programs have a bit different virus databases.
