According to a recent study from Panda Software, a well-known antivirus developer, a larger part of all parasites is made only to make money for their authors. 40% of all malware detected by the company's online scanner was spyware, 17% was made up by parasite downloaders and trojans stealing user bank account details and other sensitive information. 8% of the total was made by dialers that connect victim computers to the Internet by dialing premium rate phone numbers.
