SurpriseSavings virus: what it is and how it functions?

The devoted online shoppers go head over heels in searching for the best deals and cheapest merchandise prices, but SurpriseSavings virus is definitely not the shopping assistant that these bargain-seeking folks should turn to. This application may seem like an improvement to your daily shopping by offering coupons, discounts, price comparison tools and other special deals, supposedly helping you to save money. Nevertheless, this dubious program is more of a burden than a benefit to your shopping and overall Internet browsing experience. You should be aware that this program infiltrates your computer stealthily, but no need to worry. If you read this article closely, you will not take long to recognize if SurpriseSavings hijack occurs on your device. In such case, you should immediately scan your computer with a reliable virus-fighting utility, for instance, Reimage, to make sure your hunches are true. If the antivirus tool finds that your computer is infected, make sure you fully remove SurpriseSavings adware along with its related components from your device. Your antivirus should make sure that no infectious files are skipped in the process.

An illustration of ads by SurpriseSavings

The first sign, suggesting that your computer might have been infected with adware is, of course, the influx of ads on your browser. Since this program is ad-based, it will display all sorts of commercial data in forms of pop-ups, banners, in-text ads, random hyperlinks on web pages, and other advertisements while you are browsing the web. The ads will appear regardless of whether you want to make use of them or not. The second sign to look for it the specific information provided in the ads. You may recognise potentially dangerous advertisements from slogans like “SurpriseSavings Ads” or “Powered by SurpriseSavings” attached to them. Of course, this does not mean that other notifications that might appear on your computer screen while browsing the internet are harmless. In fact, a tendency has been noted that ads by SurpriseSavings redirect the users to some very questionable sites, where they are bombarded with different pop-ups suggesting fake software updates or ads offering to obtain some suspicious software. Please note that these ads may not feature any slogans and look relatively trustworthy. Even though similar sounding SurpriseSavings and Surprise virus are completely different viruses, interacting with SurpriseSavings ads may lead to Surprise ransomware infiltrating your PC and locking your files. The line between the two is thinner than you may think. Therefore, it is essential to eliminate this adware from your computer as soon as possible. You will find the SurpriseSavings removal guide at the end of this article, if you desire to delete it from your computer manually.

How can you avoid your computer from getting infected with this virus?

When installing newly downloaded programs on your computer, it is important to follow all the installation steps closely. The PUP creators take advantage of the users who rush through the installation process and choose to go for the “Quick” or “Recommended” settings instead of the longer installation with an “Advanced” mode. SurpriseSavings malware is no exception. Its creators bundle it with other programs (PDF creators, music/video players, download managers, etc.), called the “download clients,” with the help of which this malicious program gets into the users computers. Usually, infectious software packages like these are promoted on download.com, soft32.com, and softonic.com download sites. Therefore, it is essential to opt for the custom installation to avoid SurpriseSavings from entering your computer. In these settings, always deselect the pre-selected checkboxes allowing undesirable applications install on your computer. Also, do not immediately open the downloaded software, but rather install them on your computer’s system to give your antivirus suite some time to determine the trustworthiness of the program. Such precautions should be enough to protect you from unwanted programs.
