Ads by ViewPassword is also known as ViewPassword | Type: Adware

'Ads by ViewPassword' means that your computer was affected by potentially unwanted program or, in other words, adware. We say so because this application tends to enter system in a bundle with other applications as a 'free addition'. After that, it initiates changes in some of system settings what additionally causes annoying pop-up ads on computer's desktop. Typically, ViewPassword installs its add-on to all Internet browsers that can be found on computer. After that, it starts displaying continuous alerts that notify in the left corner: 'Ads by ViewPassword'. If you see such ads every time you start your browsing session, you should check the system for ViewPassword.

ViewPassword is promoted via two different methods: you can install this program on the system manually, just like any other program, or it can infiltrate computer in a bundle with freeware and shareware. This method still initiates various discussions on the Internet because people are hardly notified that they will download ViewPassword on their computers. However, you can prevent infiltration of such programs by inspecting the whole installation process of the freeware and unchecking this check mark that agrees to download ViewPassword. If you think that this program is inside your computer, follow this guide:

If you see continuous pop-up advertisements that say 'ads by ViewPassword' and you want to get rid of them, you should follow this guide:

What is adware?

Adware is a program that displays advertisements while people are browsing online. Advertisements appear in a web browser, pop-up windows, special toolbars or within the host program. Adware also can gather information about user’s habits and interests. Once it collects what it needs, it sends it out through a background Internet connection. Such behavior allows adware vendors to deliver targeted advertisements to the end user and collect general statistics. However, it may also be used for stealing people’s private data.

Adware is divided into parasitical and legitimate applications. Illegal advertising programs are very similar to spyware parasites and often have some of their functions. They can be installed without user's knowledge and start working every time a computer is rebooted. However, they are less dangerous than rogues because the most of such parasites are primarily intended to collect user’s personal information for marketing and advertising purposes. Unfortunately, you can never know what other purposes it can be used for.

Symptoms showing that your computer was infected by ViewPassword:

•  Appearance of annoying pop-up ads
•  Appearance of banners and in-text ads
•  Redirects to unknown and suspicious websites
•  Changes in homepage and default search engine
•  Decreased speed of every Internet browser
