Airzip.inspsearch.com has appeared instead of my homepage today, but I cannot recall when did I set this page as my main page on my Internet browser. I cannot set another web page as my homepage now. AirZip search engine seems to be stuck on my browser. Can you explain why and how did it become my homepage?

How does Airzip.inspsearch.com hijack computers?

Airzip is a potentially unwanted program (PUP), and a browser hijacker, which might hijack your computer if you are an incautious PC user. This program is spread via software packages. It means that this app might be presented as an ‘optional download’ when you install another free program to your PC. Unfortunately, not in a direct way – and that is why the majority of computer users install this browser hijacker without their knowledge.

Usually, the information about third-party software distribution is disclosed in the Terms of Use document. Nonetheless, you can also see whether your selected software promotes third-party apps by choosing Advanced or Custom installation settings. If the software contains such additions, these installation settings should provide an additional setup window, with a list of suggestions to install ‘recommended programs.’ Deselect these proposals to avoid installing these programs.

How does Airzip.inspsearch.com work?

Airzip like a typical browser hijacker – once it enters the computer system, it adds Airzip extension to your Internet browsers (Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari), and sets Airzip.inspsearch.com web page as your homepage. While the developers of this program (EMG Technology Limited) claim that AirZip is a beneficial program that is an alternative to WinZip, computer experts state that it is not a trustworthy program at all.

Airzip.inspsearch.com hijacker deliver irrelevant search results

This program gains revenue by promoting affiliate marketing. That means this program functions in a particular way to advertise its partners. It pretends to provide a useful search engine, but you should know that this search engine delivers misleading search results. For example, if you click on a search result, you are not necessarily going to visit the website that you expect to visit. Most likely you are going to experience Airzip.inspsearch.com redirect to one of AirZip’s partner’s website. Be careful – web sites promoted via PUPs can be insecure. Make sure you do not agree to install anything from such websites. Some of them can promote questionable software, which MIGHT be infectious! We advise you to get rid of Airzip.inspsearch.com redirect virus right away. You can do that with an anti-malware program, for instance, Reimage.

If you wish to remove this program manually, continue reading on page 2.
