Antimalware Defender

Antimalware Defender Removal Guide

What is Antimalware Defender?

Antimalware Defender is a rogue anti-spyware application from the same family as Virus Doctor malware. This rogue anti-spyware application is usually distributed through the use of Trojan virus or other malware. Once installed, Trojan virus displays fake pop-up that looks just like the Windows Critical Update window, so replacing the routine installation of such rogue programs. The fake Windows update notification reads:

Antimalware security update for Windows XP (KB961118)
Size: 433KB
This critical update will install System Security Update 2010.01.023 (Antimalware Defender Upgrade; KB648759)

A funny thing is that an update with code name KB648759 doesn't even exist in Microsoft database. Then, Antimalware Defender GUI will pop up on your screen [Figure 1]. It's almost an exact copy of Windows Defender which is perfectly legitimate anti-malware software.

Once installed and active, AntimalwareDefender will run a system scam and report a list of fake infections and computer security threats. Then it will ask you to pay for a full version of this fake program in order to remove the infections that we already know doesn’t even exist. Don't buy it! Further more, the rogue program will display fake notifications and warnings claiming that your computer is under attack or badly infected with viruses. Last but not least, Anti-malware Defender will install randomly named browser helper object. Because of this BHO you will be constantly redirected to various misleading web site and of course to the pay page of Antimalware Defender's full version.

As you can see, this software is not legitimate in any way. Don't purchase it and remove this bogus program upon detection. If you have purchased it, please contact your credit card company and dispute the charges. Then please use the removal guide below to remove Antimalware Defender from your computer manually for free or with an automatic removal tool. How to prevent from getting rogue antispyware

Choose a proper web browser and improve your safety with a VPN tool

Online spying has got momentum in recent years and people are getting more and more interested in how to protect their privacy online. One of the basic means to add a layer of security – choose the most private and secure web browser. Although web browsers can't grant full privacy protection and security, some of them are much better at sandboxing, HTTPS upgrading, active content blocking, tracking blocking, phishing protection, and similar privacy-oriented features. However, if you want true anonymity, we suggest you employ a powerful Private Internet Access VPN – it can encrypt all the traffic that comes and goes out of your computer, preventing tracking completely.

Lost your files? Use data recovery software

While some files located on any computer are replaceable or useless, others can be extremely valuable. Family photos, work documents, school projects – these are types of files that we don't want to lose. Unfortunately, there are many ways how unexpected data loss can occur: power cuts, Blue Screen of Death errors, hardware failures, crypto-malware attack, or even accidental deletion.

To ensure that all the files remain intact, you should prepare regular data backups. You can choose cloud-based or physical copies you could restore from later in case of a disaster. If your backups were lost as well or you never bothered to prepare any, Data Recovery Pro can be your only hope to retrieve your invaluable files.
