AV Protection 2011 is a rogue anti-spyware program. It pretends to be a genuine program that will check your computer for viruses. In reality, though, it will display false threats on your computer and constantly display fake security warnings to make you think your computer is infected. This fake program is promoted through the use of fake online virus scanners and alerts that appear when visiting infected websites. These pop-ups state that your computer is infected and that you should download and install AV Protection 2011 to remove found infections and to protect your computer. This is is a scam. Don't install it and most importantly don't purchase this fake program. Instead, get rid of AV Protection 2011 as soon as possible.

When installed, AV Protection 2011 will be configured to start automatically when you restart your computer. When the program starts it will scan your computer and display spyware infections on the system. These infections, though, cannot be removed until you first purchase the rogue program. While the rogue program is running you will also see many fake security alerts and notifications claiming that your PC is badly infected and that your computer might be attacked from a hacker server. The bad news is that AVProtection 2011 will blocks legitimate programs and hijack web browsers. These are self protection methods used by nearly all rogue programs.

AV Protection 2011 seems to have disabled my mouse and keyboard. I used a USB wireless mouse to poke around in the system files after disconnecting from the Internet, but I cant delete the .exe or get into regedit without a working keyboard. Anybody else have this problem?

It didnt disable my wireless mouse/keyboard, but it prohibited me from opening a zip drive and CD drive. Had to format and reinstall because even after I got rid of the malware, I still couldnt get the internet connection working again. This was a bad one... Russian-origin.
