AvCare. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)

removal by Jake Doevan - -   Also known as AntivirusCare, Av Care, Antivirus Care | Type: Rogue Antispyware

AvCare is a bogus security application that uses misleading methods to scare the user of the infected computer into purchasing it. This rogue program is advertised mostly through the use of fake online anlti-malware scanners and advertisements. Of course, it can be installed with the help of Trojan viruses too. Uninstall AvCare from the system as soon as it is detected. You probably know that Microsoft has a computer security and performance enhancement service called Windows Live OneCare. Scammers named their malicious program AvCare. Inexperienced users can easily confuse these programs.

On of the fake online anti-malware scanners that promotes AvCare displays the following notification:

“Warning!!! Your computer contains various signs of viruses and malware programs presence. Your system requires immediate antivirus check! AvCare will perform a quick and free scanning of your PC for viruses and malicious programs.”

Don’t download anything and leave the website if you get this or similar warning.

Once installed, AvCare will be configured to scan your computer when you log on into Windows. The rogue program will state then that your computer is infected with Trojan viruses and adware. However, the scan results are false. Those infections are made up in order to convince you that your PC is infected. AvCare will ask you to buy a full version of this program to remove found infections and to ensure further system protection. Obviously, we strongly recommend you not to do so.

While running, AvCare will also display fake security alerts from the Windows taskbar. These alerts will state:

“Your system is infected!
AVCare detected 10 system security
threads on your PC.
Detected malicious programs can damage your PC and compromise your privacy. It is strongly recommended to remove these threats immediately.”

“Warning
Your system is infected! 10 dangerous objects have been found during last system scan. It is strongly recommended to remove them immediately.”

“Remote Attack Alert!
Unknown host tries to establish connection to your PC using restricted ports.
This may be internet virus or other type of malicious or spyware program.”

Av Care will slow down your computer and hijack the Internet Explorer. It’s a malicious program that must be removed as soon as possible. Please use the removal guide below to remove AvCare from the system manually for free.
