This nasty virus has an interesting ability to update itself, by checking for newer versions in the internet. So if your computer gets this infection it is highly possible, that soon you will have the Backdoor.Slackbot.a or Backdoor.Slackbot.b version. It originated in July 2004. It uses Internet Relay Chat (IRC) to allow the hacker remote usage. It opens the default port 6667 and awaits commands, although the port cam be changed by the intruder. The features of this pest include: Download and execute files, Manage the installation of the backdoor, Send the backdoor to other IRC channels to attempt to compromise more computers, Dynamically update the installed backdoor, Control the IRC client on the compromised computer.
