Buchon is an Internet worm, which spreads by e-mail through messages with infected executable attachments.

Once the user executes an attached file, the parasite silently installs itself to the system and runs a spreading routine. It searches specific local files for e-mail addresses, collects them and sends a malicious letter to each of them using own mail engine. Messages have the following subject:

"Mail Delivery failure - [spoofed e-mail address]"

and the following body:

"If the message will not displayed automatically, you can check original in attached message.txt.
Failed message also saved at [site address]
(check attached instructions)"

Then Buchon runs a payload. It installs a hidden proxy server designed to receive commands from the attacker to download and execute arbitrary files. The worm may also transfer certain data to random remote hosts.

Buchon automatically runs on every Windows startup.

• Allows remote user connection
• Connects itself to the internet
• Hides from the user
• Stays resident in background
