-Provide the hacker with a remote control over the system
-Disable antiviral programs, which are installed on the target PC
-Log user's keystrokes and send these logs to the hacker

• Sends out logs by FTP or email
• Logs keystrokes
• Connects itself to the internet
• Hides from the user
• Stays resident in background
