What is BusinessListingSearch.net?

BusinessListingSearch.net is a suspicious search engine, which has also been added to browser hijacker category. Once it enters the system, it may alter the start page, the default search engine, the new tab page and other system settings. After all these settings are changed according to Business Listing Search needs, it may start redirecting its victim to predetermined websites. This activity is initiated for promoting these websites and third parties that use them for earning the money.

If you have been using BusinessListingSearch.net hijacker for your searches, you should be aware that it may show you altered search results and then redirect you to its affiliate websites. In most of the cases, this questionable search engine is capable of affecting all web browsers, including IE, Firefox and Chrome, so switching from Mozilla Firefox to Google Chrome won’t help you to avoid annoying redirections. We must say that we haven’t noticed BusinessListingSearch.net domain spreading malware or other viruses but it clearly displays sponsored results that may be quite misleading. Besides, this browser hijacker, may start tracking your browsing activity and may collect your search terms, mostly visited websites and similar information without your permission asked. Finally, this program may also install Business Listing Search Toolbar on your computer, so you should not even think about postponing its removal. The easiest way to do that is to run a full system scan with Reimage.

How can BusinessListingSearch.net infiltrate my computer?

BusinessListingSearch.net browser hijacker and other programs that are categorized like that can be downloaded to the system together with freeware and shareware as optional components. Such additional downloads are always added in exchange for money but you can protect yourself from them by performing just a couple of easy steps. First of all, you should select Custom or Advanced installation of the freeware. After doing so, make sure you uncheck pre-checked check marks that allow installation of additional components. Of course, browsers hijackers, adwares and similar potentially unwanted programs may enter your computer without being noticed because misleading pop-up ads have also been used for spreading them. In this case, BusinessListingSearch.net hijacks system settings, alters the settings of each of web browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc.) and then starts causing its unwanted activity. This activity can be really annoying because each of search sessions is redirected to BusinessListingSearch.net and other unknown websites. In addition, you may also notice pop-up ads and similar unwanted activities on your computer that can be eliminated only by removing BusinessListingSearch virus from your computer.
