Checkraise is a complex trojan designed to steal passwords for popular online poker software. Once executed, the parasite secretly installs itself to the system and runs a payload. It injects malicious code into running processes of installed online poker software in order to steal user passwords and account details. Checkraise can also log keystrokes. Gathered data is transferred to the remote attacker. The trojan also opens a back door providing the intruder with unauthorized remote access to the compromised computer. The attacker is allowed to take screenshots of user activity, upload and download arbitrary files and steal important system and user information. Checkraise is able to terminate some running firewalls and security-related applications. The trojan uses an integrated rootkit, which hides its presence in the system. Checkraise runs on every Windows startup.
