Once installed, this parasite will supposedly scan your computer and display a list of files that are likely infected and must be removed. These files, though, are legitimate programs and shouldn't be removed, otherwise it would cause Windows to not operate properly. What is more, you must to purchase Contraviro in order to remove these supposed infections. Obviously, it is recommended not to do so, because Contraviro is a scam, totally useless application. You will only waste your money. While running, Contraviro will install a DLL file called Layered Service Provider (LSP) on to your computer. It is used mainly to monitor network traffic and detect certain information. Contraviro will also display very annoying and false security alerts stating that your computer is is being attacked by an Internet viruses. It will claim that you must purchase this program in order to ensure full real-time protection. However, as we have already mentioned, Contraviro is a scam. You shouldn't trust it.
