What is CWA Donation Slider?

CWA Donation Slider by We-Care.com is a browser plug-in, which has been designed for various charity organizations. To be more precise, it offers to purchase various items from up to 2500 merchants who later provide a percentage of any purchases made by the user to the certain charity organizations. Even though this app is legitimate, security experts have categorized it as an adware and a potentially unwanted program (PUP). That’s because developers of this app use deceptive distribution methods and seek to promote affiliate websites using unfair means. It has been found that this adware spreads bundled with other freewares. This way, many people install it unconsciously. Once inside, it may start promoting affiliate websites. For that purpose, it may deliver various commercial ads marked as ‘Ads by CWA Donation Slider’, ‘ CWA Donation Slider Deals’, etc. that are linked to predetermined websites. These advertisements may seriously annoy you. However, it’s not the main reason why we recommend removing this app. Beware that adware-type programs can easily be exploited by cyber criminals, which means that some of the CWA Donation Slider ads may be managed by suspicious third parties and linked to the websites filled with malicious content. In addition to that, our security experts have detected cookies embedded in this app. It seems that this browser toolbar is set to track its users and collect information about their browsing habits. To prevent unwanted issues that adwares are capable of causing, you should remove CWA Donation Slider virus using a reliable anti-spyware, such as Reimage. This way, you will also ensure that such and similar programs won’t infiltrate your PC in the future.

How can CWA Donation Slider hijack my computer?

You can visit We-Care.com website and install CWA Donation Slider willingly. However, we do not believe that many people do that. This browser add-on is commonly distributed along with free software. It may be attached to various download managers, media players or any other type of free software. Therefore, you have to be as careful as possible when installing freewares on your computer. Make a small research about your selected program at first and then select Advanced or Custom installation option. Finally, review every check box and unmark ticks claiming that you agree to install CWA Donation Slider virus or any other browser add-on, plug-in, toolbar or extension. If you have already installed this app, we highly do not recommend keeping it. In general, you should NOT keep any of the programs that infiltrate your computer bundled with freewares because they are seldom appear to be useful and reliable.
