DefendAPc is a rogue anti-spyware application that claims to scan your computer for malware but in reality it only simulates system scan and reports false scan results to make you think that your computer is infected. Then it asks to pay for a full version of the program to remove the infections. This is a typical scareware that reports non-existing infections or detects legitimate files as system security threats. Don’t purchase it and remove DefendAPc from your PC as soon as possible.

DefendAPc comes from fake online scanners that impersonates Windows OS “My Computer” view and states that your computer has many security problems. Such scanners then prompt the user to download malware removal tool, in this case Defend APc, to remove found infections. However, in reality it’s not a malware removal tool but a Trojan virus that will cause more problems later.
Once installed, the rogue application will flood your PC with fake security alerts and notifications [Figure 2]. Those alerts will state that your computer is badly infected or that your PC is under attack by an Internet virus. These statement are obviously false. What is more, DefendAPc impersonates Windows Security Center [Figure 3] and “pushes” fake software. The fake Security center windows looks just like the legitimate one except that the fake one promotes DefendAPc. As you know, Windows Security Center doesn’t promote any particular anti-virus software. However, you may not notice this at the first time.

Another problem is that DefendAPc uses Search Engine Results Hijacking and displays fake warnings when surfing the Web. How this works? Well, basically it takes you to entirely different website instead of the listed one in search results. And it constantly displays fake warnings as shown in the image below.

As you can see, DefendAPc is a fraudware. Don’t purchase it and use the removal guide below to remove it from your PC manually for free or download an automatic removal tool and run a full system scan.
