Desktop Security 2010 is a fake anti-spyware application that is promoted and installed through the use of malware, usually Trojan viruses. This vicious software simulates a system scan and reports false system security threats or infections and displays fake security alerts to make you think that your computer is infected with Trojans, worms and other viruses when in reality the only real virus is DesktopSecurity2010 itself. It other words, it's a scareware that imitates real anti-virus software and asks to buy it in order to remove the infections that actually don't even exist.
