Why does your browser launch Discoverreceipt.com on a startup?

Discoverreceipt.com virus is a totally useless program. Once it infects the system, it corrupts browsers by modifying their homepage settings – it sets Discoverreceipt.com as default home and new tab page. This URL presents a search engine, which appears to be out of service. No matter what phrase or word you enter into it – it says that “Your search for … did not match any results.” However, this browser hijacker might be improved shortly and start to function. We want to warn you that such suspicious search tools are usually developed by questionable companies that seek to generate pay-per-click revenue. It means that tools they create are made to present third-party links leading to affiliate websites, and not results that accurately respond to user’s search query. Besides, the developers of this search engine state that they do not control sites that appear in search results and that they are not responsible for information in them.

You should think twice before using this search tool, because if it ever starts working, it will start to present results without endorsing content behind them. There are plenty more reliable search tools out there that you can use for free; many search engines filter search results and ensure that only safe ones reach users. However, before you start using a different search engine, you have to remove Discoverreceipt.com first, so we strongly recommend you to scan the system with a program like Reimage to delete all potentially unwanted programs and viruses at once. If you are sure that there are no other threats in the system except this hijacker, uninstall it manually using Discoverreceipt.com removal guidelines presented below. If our arguments did not convince you to remove this hijacker, we suggest you read Privacy Policy of this questionable search engine in discoverreceipt.com/privacypolicy.php site. Discoverreceipt.com hijack

Who and when installed this program on your PC?

Discoverreceipt.com hijack takes place when the user installs another free program that contains Discover Receipt software. Such software pack is known as a software bundle. You can download such pack from file sharing sites. For example, if you cannot imagine how the free program that you have recently installed contributes in Discoverreceipt.com distribution, try to recall what setup settings were set at the time you have clicked the “Install” button. If you skipped these settings and left the pre-selected option on (Default or Standard), you agreed to install all “recommended” programs. Therefore, we want to share a simple tip that will help you to avoid installing potentially unwanted programs. Simply choose Custom or Advanced settings for the installation and manually alter components of your download. If you are dealing with a software bundle, Advanced and Custom settings should disclose a list of additional applications bundled with the main program, and allow you to alter components of the package. We highly recommend you to reject all additional programs because these often appear to be annoying and useless.

How to revert Discoverreceipt.com hijack?

Browser hijackers disrupt regular browser’s performance and cause annoying redirects to third-party websites, and it goes without saying that such activity should not be tolerated. Do not ignore this hijacker and get rid of it as soon as you can. It is better to remove Discoverreceipt.com virus using anti-malware software, but if you do not have it, you can try to delete it manually. Do not delay Discoverreceipt.com removal because it makes the computer system vulnerable to malware attacks! We invite you to use these removal instructions (if you wish to uninstall this hijacker manually).

You can remove Discoverreceipt.com automatically with a help of one of these programs: Reimage, Plumbytes Anti-MalwareWebroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus, Malwarebytes Anti Malware. We recommend these applications because they can easily delete potentially unwanted programs and viruses with all their files and registry entries that are related to them.
