eStart is a an Internet Explorer toolbar that replaces the web browser's default Links toolbar, creates links to various web sites and adds some bookmarks to the Favorites list. The threat examines user e-mail messages, steals found identity details such as user's full name and silently sends gathered data to remote web servers. eStart can update itself via the Internet, download and install unsolicited potentially harmful programs. It also may attempt to monitor user Internet activity and suggest sponsored links once a particular keyword is detected. eStart is bundled with some ad-supported applications.
