Franvir is an Internet worm that spreads through file sharing networks using the Kazaa peer-to-peer program. It comes in files with meaningful names that trick the user into downloading and opening them. Once executed, Franvir creates a folder, drops infected files in it and then registers this directory in order to share malicious files with other Kazaa users. The worm also displays several error messages that clearly reveal its presence in the system. Franvir doesn't carry any destructive payload. It automatically runs on every Windows startup.
