Several variants (Freak (Freak88) 2K, Freak (Hatchet) 1.0, Freak (Hatchet) 1.0 b1, Freak (Hatchet) 1.01, Freak88 Distributed Attack Suite) appeared from April 2000 to September 2001. Such programs are called Remote Administration Tool (RAT). They are used by hackers to control the victim's machine remotely. The possibilities of such program depend on the needs of the attacker. The intruder infects the PC via the e-mail or File and Print Sharing. Once inside the system, the virus opens a default TCP port 31337 and awaits hacker commands. The author of this pest is Freak88.
