The author of this pest is a hacker called LoST DaTa. The program was written in Visual Basic programming language. Several versions (HVL RAT 1.1, HVL RAT 2.1, HVL RAT 5.3.0, HVL RAT 6.0.0b, HVL RAT ListMaker, HVL RAT Patcher) appeared from May 1999 to April 2004. As the number of the version grows, so does the risk of infection and the amount of damage that can be done by this virus. This RAT tries to steal passwords as they are being typed in. It also logs keystrokes and uses the webcam and microphone to spy on user.
