Worm Moodown.b (also known as NetSky.b) is an Internet worm that spreads by e-mail in messages with infected executable attachments. When a user executes such attachment, the worm installs itself to the system and shows a fake error message. Then it scans hard disks for files of some types, searches them for e-mail addresses and sends its copies to these addresses using own mail server. It also places its copies to all found shared directories. The worm deletes another parasite called MyDoom from the system.

I-Worm.Moodown.b may in some cases not be an actual threat. It is a fabricated threat used by the corrupt anti-spyware SpyGuarder 2.1 in fake system notifications, so it could better persuade the user he is infected and therefore needs to purchase it's "licensed version". The message displayed looks as follows:

If you see this message, do NOT trust it: it is only a sign that you've been infected by SpyGuarder. Don't download it and, above all, don't buy it - it's a scam and should be treated as such.
