From the comment dates below, sounds as though the problem has been cracked...

However I brought a PC back from the dead today after it had been sitting waiting for a new power unit. Lo and behold this IBiS toolbar was there...adaware couldn't get rid of it.

Howvere I installed avast antivirus (its free for individuals) and it got rid of the lot. Avast really is good free software --- better than all the other anti-virus stuff that you pay for..and it costs nothing (no have no connection with avast - or any software house lol)

Microsoft Anti-Spyware can at least supress it, but getting it to stop trying to download is like trying to stop Credit Card companies from sending you junk mail!!!

After three hours i couldnt delete this Ibis toolbar crap. I tried restarting it in safe mood and it came up clear but when going but to normal it still found tons of them. I found that going to Add/Remove programs in control panel and then uninstalling wintools (websearch) then it will all come out fine when you do you next ad-aware search. Katie

5. I finally got this fu...ing IBIS removed by Guest. 2005-05-31 08:05:30
Hello folks. The only way I got this fu...ing IBIS removed from my PC was by running AD-AWARE in SAFE MODE as suggested by Igniter57 right bellow. If you are patient enough to run AD-AWARE more than one time until you get it coming back clean, I am confident you will get ride of this piece of junk. Make sure you will run AD-AWARE in regular mode afterwards. Just in case. Good luck.

I was able to remove IBIS using ad-aware, with latest def file, 11 Apr. turn off restore, boot in safe mode, turn off processes associated with IBIS (see above), then run ad-aware. Ran ad aware once again in safe mode, came back clean, rebooted normally, turned on restore, rebooted normally, ran ad-aware again, came back clean. Ran spybots, which found 2 installer files for IBIS. Good luck
