Ihedont is an Internet worm that propagates by e-mail in messages with infected executable attachments. Once executed, the parasite installs itself to the system, drops and runs a variant of the infamous LoveLetter worm and initiates a spreading routine. Ihedont sends itself to all the e-mail addresses it finds in the Microsoft Outlook address book. The threat can perform a DoS attack against a predetermined remote host. Ihedont usually runs on every Windows startup.

The worm modifies essential configuration file of Windows 95/98/ME systems. Open the win.ini located in C:\Windows\System or C:\Windows\System32 folder and delete the following line:
run=C:\Windows\rundlls.exe
