Internet Security 2012 is a fake antivirus that is distributed by the same gang pushing fake HDD rogue optimizers such as Privacy Protection. However, this is conventional rogue antivirus - it displays security-related warnings, blocks execution of legitimate programs, disabled Internet connection and does other things that are unwanted by all PC users without any doubt.  You can get infected with Internet Security 2012 if you visit infected websites or download shareware/programs without checking them for viruses and malware. In most of the cases, it enters the system without any permission asked, so be sure to use a reputable anti-spyware to prevent its intrussion.

Most of the time, Internet Security 2012 will display alerts and start its scan on PC startup. It will show warnings about infected files even if these files do not exist on your PC or if they are completely clean. Note that you must ignore all the Internet Security 2012 warnings, reporting something like that:

Malicious program has been detected. Click here to protect your computer.

Firewall Warning
Hidden file transfers to remote host has been detected.
has detected a leak of your files through the Internet. We strongly recommend that you block the attack immediately.

Internet Security 2012 will prevent legitimate files from starting, so you will find difficulties when trying to launch your anti-spyware program and run it to remove Internet Security 2012. However, there are several ways to overcome this: some anti-malware programs, like Spyware Hunter, should be able to launch and kill malware process instead, if they fail, you will have to kill Internet Security 2012 processes first by running this string:

taskkill.exe /F /IM isecurity.exe

Then you can install anti-malware or antivirus program and scan your PC for Internet Security 2012 files and delete them. It is extremely important to remove Internet Security 2012 downloader, as you might get infected by the same parasite again in the future. You should upgrade your Anti-virus and anti-malware programs for better protection from Internet Security 2012 or similar rogues in the future.

Yeah i too was using this antivirus and was fed up a lot. now am using comodo internet security. It offers anti-malware protection, a personal firewall, a sandbox and a Host-based Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) called Defense+.

Ya I agree with hercules that Comodo internet security is very effective in its malware removals and which not only destroy viruses but also prevents it.

You can enter safe mode by rebooting the machine and holding down F8 key. If you dont trust the network, use a USB stick for the cleaner program or write down what you see for manual uninstall using regedit. I found this guide using my netbook, as the Internet Security 2012 malware didnt let me run task manager or process explorer. I ran Ad-Aware first, then AVG, and deleted the keys they had left untouched using regedit. Cleaned it up.
