Kuluoz. How to remove? (Uninstall guide)

removal by Jake Doevan - -   Also known as Win32/Kuluoz, Kuluoz worm | Type: Worms

Kuluoz is a dangerous worm, which is used by cyber criminals to steal sensitive information from its victims. This cyber threat can be easily applied to steal passwords, saved loggin and banking details or other important data from its victims. Besides, it also acts an important role in the distribution of other viruses and has ability to download malware, trojans or similar worms onto its target computer. According to security experts, Kuluoz worm is the one that has been used for spreading Sirefef trojan and the parasites that belong to the fraudulent WinWebSec family of threats.

Kuluoz worm is mostly spread via spam and email messages that have an infected ZIP file attached. Typically, user gets a misleading e-mail, which informs him about the tax refund for the Internal Revenue Service or a failed delivery of his parcel. The first misleading letter, which has a dangerous worm attached, claims:

Your Federal Tax report #ID
Tax Refund,
The analysis of the last annual calculations of your fiscal activity has indicated that you entitled to receive a tax refund of $XXX.
Please, submit a request of the tax refund and a processing of the request will take 7-14 days.
A tax refund can be delayed by different reasons. For instance submission of invalid records or sending after the deadline.
Please, find the form of your tax refund attached and fill out it and send a report.

Of course, you should ignore this e-mail and remove it from your inbox immediately because it can easily infect your PC with Win32/Kuluoz. Once it gets inside the system, it creates its own files and starts its malicious job here. Note that some of its files may look like legitimate Windows files that are important for normal PC’s functionality, such as csrss.exe and similar. That’s why we always recommend using automated programs for viruses removal. Additionally, this worm connects its remote server and waits for its commands. It can not only download and execute files, but update itself and download/uninstall malware. Please, remove Kuluoz worm as soon as you know about it.

When trying to remove Kuluoz from the system, you should use automated anti-spyware programs. We have found that this worm can eaisly be eliminated with a help of Plumbytes Anti-MalwareWebroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus or Reimage. Once again, we don’t recommend suing manual removal method because you can easily delete wrong files from the system.
