Linst, also known as Sivuxa, is a trojan with additional adware functionality. It collects information about computer software and system settings and sends it to a predefined web server. It also installs browser add-ons that display undesirable commercial advertisements in Internet Explorer. Once executed, Linst drops its files into the default system directory (C:\Windows\System, C:\Windows\System32 or C:\Winnt\System32) and main Windows folder (C:\Windows or C:\Winnt). It also modifies the registry, so the threat could run on every system startup.
