Its tactics are not dissimilar to those fake spyware removers use to scam PC users: first, MacSweeper employs misleading advertising to catch users attention, then it installs itself into their computers. Then, the usual fake scan and exaggerated error reports routine follows. If you are using iMac, be aware that MacSweeper is a scam and that its warnings should not be taken seriously.
