Marlap.c is a trojan that uses social engineering techniques to steal confidential information from its victims. Once executed, the parasite starts searching for running AOL software. If Marlap.c finds such software, it displays fake AOL form, which asks the user to provide his or her personal information including the name, date of birth, address, phone number, credit card number, bank account details, social security number, etc. After the user fills in the form, Marlap.c secretly transfers gathered data to a predefined remote host. The parasite runs on every Windows startup.
