Melo, also known as Jesse, is a worm that spreads through floppy disks and via MSN Messenger in messages containing malicious links. Once executed, the parasite displays a fake error message and deletes all writeable non-system and non-hidden files located in the root of the main hard drive (C:) and floppy disk (A:) replacing them with infected files that have exactly the same names. Melo can disable the Windows Task Manager. The worm automatically runs on every system startup.
