Meridian is a typical adware parasite that displays unsolicited pop-up advertisements with mostly pornographic content. The threat is able to download from the Internet and execute arbitrary potentially malicious files. Meridian is distributed through ActiveX drive-by downloads and therefore can get into the system while visiting some insecure web sites. The parasite runs every time the user launches Internet Explorer.
