| Type: Backdoors
Metalrock, also known as Tastyred, is a backdoor that gives the attacker unauthorized remote access to a compromised computer. Once executed, Metalrock installs a modified variant of mIRC chat client, which automatically contacts the attacker. The threat allows him to download and upload arbitrary files, collect system information, update the backdoor and perform a DDOS attack against predefined remote hosts. Metalrock also attempts to delete Windows essential networking tools. The backdoor runs on every Windows startup.
