(9/100) virus is also known as hijack, redirect | Type: Browser Hijackers | Tags: Google redirect

What is can be called either an untrustworthy search engine or the annoying search site that may initiate such unwanted activities as browser's redirections to unknown websites, changes of the home page or a default search engine, slow downs and other unwanted things. Besides, beware that it may also drop its toolbar on each of your web browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc.) without a clear permission asked. No matter that we can't declare that domain is malicious, it is known not only for being a free social player. It seems that this program uses unfair distribution method, which is called 'bundling'. Besides, as some of security researchers claim, it may work as a tracking cookie and may collect information about people's browsing habits and similar online activities without any permission asked. Finally, it may alter search results for redirecting people to affiliate websites. If you don't want to allow this program to modify your system settings and then start causing various unwanted activities on it, you should remove virus. The easiest way to do that is  with a help of SpyHunter or other reputable anti-spyware. Of course, you can also rely on manual removal method, which is explained down below. However, after selecting it you should take into account that you may forgot to remove all components of this hijacker and it may start bothering after rebooting your computer.

HOW CAN hijack my computer? hijacker is distributed like any other browser hijacker or similar PUP. So, you may get infected with it after downloading related freeware or shareware. For avoiding that, you should start paying more attention to freewares installation because it may be added to lots of download managers, PDF creators, video streaming software and similar programs. When downloading any of these applications, make sure you select Custom or Advanced installation method. After that, you should try to find suspicious checkmarks saying that you want to change your start page or default search engine. If it manages to infiltrate the system, this program may modify some of its settings. Typically, it may alter the start page, the default search engine, the new tab page, etc. It can be said that it affects all web browsers that it manages to find on the PC. Additionally, virus may start appearing every time you start browsing on the web and may try to redirect you to affiliate websites. Please, do NOT ignore the appearance of this program because it may be used for bad purpose. We recommend you to remove virus.

When trying to protect yourself from redirects, slow downs and other issues, you should stay away from this suspicious seach site. For eliminating it, you can either try to uninstall it thru Add/Remove Programs or run a full system scan with updated anti-spyware. We recommend you to select this method because it will help you to make sure that all suspicious programs have left your computer.

Comments on virus

In Internet Explorer 11 there is no uninstall as you say, there is remove and it is greyed out. Though it can be disabled removing it, uninstalling it, is not possible.
I went to Firefox Extensions MixiDJ is not listed there -- but it has made itself the home page!!! I did download Spyhunter which did detect MixDj, however, $39.99 is not in the budget at the moment.
