Trojan.Mournor (a.k.a. Mournor) is both dangerous and annoying. It embeds itself to Windows registry and runs on every startup. The main problem with Mournor trojan is its abilities to ruin Windows Explorer application and to modify vital system files.

Once Mournor is active, it changes original eplorer.exe executable with a copy of itself. It renames and hides the original Windows Explorer app and it might even prevent Windows from restoring the file. Trojan.Mournor puts various files in SYSTEM directory and this way it makes a computer crash regularly. The trojan may also install other malwares.

Trojan.Mournor has to be loaded manually, but it easily tricks people into executing the trojan. It hides in a file named explorer.exe. People usually expect *.exe files to contain some kind of software, but the icon of Mournor file looks like it’s not a program but an image.
