Movie Commander pretends to be an installer for the same named application that is actually a fake codec for Windows Media Player. However, it is also a trojan that installs a rootkit and changes default DNS (name server) settings. This results in using malicious name servers that redirect the user to harmful web sites. Once executed, the threat displays the setup screen. Then it installs itself to the system along with a rootkit.
