We were infected with the MS Removal Tool - and as if totally froze our computer, we were forced to purchase the program as it would not allow us to open any of the Windows programs including the desktop, We could not start the unit in the safe mode, so we had no alternative.
The good part is that we had a Microsoft Analyst come to the rescue today. He found the file, renamed it, re booted then deleted the file. He then cleaned off the anti virus program that we had, rebooted again, started a mirror program, and then deleted all of the tails of the program, (we hope)
Our next challenge is to get back the money we spent for the MS Removal Tool, so far it is a challenge, this is theft in no uncertain words.
We will keep on trying.

I would reccoment deleting the accout affected, then making it again. you may or may not lose information (like online favorites and such) but its a lot more simple than downloading all this stuff.
