I did not see any other extensions in that list when I followed your instructions for Chrome.
I do not have any tool bars either- just the annoying double tab of the avg mysearch and conduit that opens up in 2 separate tabs - Cant find where they are on my windows 8 system.

Click the Chrome menu button, select Tools -> Extensions, find AVG Toolbar,Mysearch.Avg.com and other unknown extensions and remove them by clicking Recycle bin.
No click Settings -> Manage search engines and change your default search engine.
