Lamzev trojan (a.k.a. OSX.Lamzev.A) is designed to create backdoors on Mac computers. It is detected as OSX.TrojanKit.Malez by some security tools.

OSX.Lamzev.A must be installed manually. In other words, it doesn’t infect Mac remotely; it is installed by someone who has physical access to the compromised computer. OSX.Lamzev.A allows hackers to choose already installed application and port number to reach the machine later. This creates a backdoor every time the application is launched. The trojan makes sure that the backdoor can be used all the time by adding the trojaned application to ~/Library/LaunchAgents.

The compromised application must be restored to normal in order to delete Lamzev trojan. User also has to use clean backup to restore ~/Library/LaunchAgents to previous state.
